How to Use Vinegar to Keep Away Mosquitos

I use vinegar in different ways to prevent mosquitos.

Each approach is effective, so you can choose the one that you will find easiest to execute.

Method 1: Use Vinegar in a Glass

All you need to do is pour white vinegar in a glass and put it in an area you suspect the mosquitos may be passing through.

For example, you can place the glass near the windows. Mosquitos cannot stand the vinegar smell, and this will keep them away from entering your home.

Method 2: Vinegar + citronella

Citronella is often used to repel insects, and it does a pretty good job in repelling mosquitos and other insects when combined with vinegar.

Mosquitos find citrus fragrance unbearable, so you can use the combination of vinegar and citronella and spray it in your house or backyard.

To make a perfect repellent, dilute ten drops of citronella with about 30 ml of olive oil.

Then, add one and a half tablespoons of vinegar to the combination.

You can place the mixture at the entrance or on the windows.

Alternatively, you can pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray it around the house.

Method 3: Vinegar + Eucalyptus

Mosquitos cannot stand the scent from eucalyptus essential oils, and combining it with the vinegar could be an ideal way to keep them away.

Pour a 1/3 cup of alcohol and 1/3 cup of vinegar.

Then, add 10-12 drops of eucalyptus oil to the mixture of the vinegar and alcohol. You can buy the eucalyptus essential oil in a store near you or order it online.

Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray it around the house and in the areas most affected by the mosquito.

Method 4: Trap the Mosquitos with Vinegar

If you prefer trapping the mosquitos instead of keeping them away, apple cider vinegar is the ideal home supplement to use.

Apple cider vinegar scent attracts the mosquito, and you can catch them and get rid of them however you see fit.

Here is a step-by-step guide to making the perfect trap for mosquitos.

• Step 1: pour apple cider vinegar into the bottle of your choosing.

• Step 2: Use a piece of paper to make a funnel and place it in the bottle with apple cider vinegar.

• Step 3: Place the bottle in the area mostly infested by the mosquitos.

• Step 4: The aroma of apple cider vinegar will attract the mosquitos.

They will then try to enter inside the bottle and end up trapping themselves.

How To Repel Mosquitoes With Vinegar

You can repel mosquitos easily with vinegar by placing a glass of vinegar in the areas infested by the mosquito, mixing it with eucalyptus essential oil or citronella.

Alternatively, you can trap them with apple cider vinegar.
